Overview
The 3Com® NBX 100 communications system integrates a robust call processing feature set with standards-based, Ethernet technology in a powerful business telephone system. It's ideal for small to medium-size businesses and remote offices of larger enterprises.

Unlike PC-based telephony platforms, the 3Com NBX 100 system is self-contained, LAN-based, and highly reliable. The system's call processing engine doubles as an application server. It delivers standard features that range from auto-attendant/voice mail to unified messaging and TAPI-enabled Computer Telephony Integration (CTI).

The call processor scales up to 12 auto-attendant voice messaging ports and 80 hours of storage via software upgrades. Cards are available to connect:

up to four public switched telephone network (PSTN) lines with built-in Caller ID support
a standard T1 circuit
a standard E1 circuit
other NBX business telephones, user PCs, or other 10BASE-T or 10BASE2 Ethernet devices
This cost-effective system supports up to 200 devices, and browser-based management eases administration.

The 3Com NBX 100 communications system is available in a number of countries, and supports voice mail prompts and user documentation in eight languages—US English, UK English, Parisian French, German, Mexican Spanish, Castilian Spanish, Italian and Australian English.

The NBX call processor is the foundation of the NBX 100 system, managing all incoming and outgoing call traffic. It is also an application server for the APX messaging system, embedded web server, and other onboard and external application hosting and connectivity. Card includes a 10BASE-T MDI-X uplink port and one 10BASE2 BNC expansion connector. Telephony adjunct connectors for Music on Hold, paging, external alerts, plus the system hard disk kit. One call processor is required per system.

3Com NBX Analog Line Card - 3C10114

The NBX analog line card connects up to four loop start PSTN telephone lines to the NBX 100 via four RJ-11 interfaces; includes built-in Caller ID support and built-in power failure transfer jack.

3Com NBX Digital Line Card - 3C10116

The NBX digital line card connects a standard T1 circuit to the NBX 100 system. Includes an MDI-X port for connecting to a LAN switch port to optimize network loading. Supports robbed-bit or PRI services.

3Com NBX E1 Card - 3C10165

The NBX E1 card connects a standard E1 circuit to the NBX 100 system. Includes an MDI-X port for connecting to a LAN switch port to optimize network loading. Supports PRI services.

3Com NBX 10BASE-T Hub Card - 3C10115

The NBX 10BASE-T hub card includes eight RJ-45 ports (10 Mbps shared Ethernet) and one 10BASE2 BNC uplink port for expansion.

The NBX analog terminal card connects up to four tip/ring (2500 series compatible) analog devices, such as analog phone, cordless phone, Group 3 fax machine, speakerphone adjunct, etc. Does not support modems.

The NBX IP Serve site license enables all local and remote NBX phones and analog line card ports to operate as IP phones at Layer 3. IP addresses can be supplied via static or DHCP addressing. (Note: License requires one IP address per MAC address (all devices and CO ports) in the system. Requires key code to activate.)

3Com NBX IP On-the-Fly Site License - 3C10132

The NBX IP On-the-Fly site license enables all local and remote NBX phones and analog line card ports to operate as IP phones at Layer 3 on a per-call basis, with all LAN-based devices returning their IP addresses to the pool on the NCP after completing the call. Requires key code to activate.
